photogenic? to be or not to be?

According to Wikipedia, A subject (generally a person) is photogenic if appearing aesthetically or physically attractive or appealing in photographs. Indeed, some people with ordinary faces appear more beautiful in a photograph. The opposite is also true. Some beautiful people lose their beauty in a photograph.

If I have encountered in my life really photogenic models and people who really weren't, I think this concept is actually too used... People I contact often tell me that they are not photogenic in error.

In our hyper-formatted life where everyone has to fit into a mold called the ultimate beauty (as defined by a couple of people), the image in the mirror of people is so truncated.

In most cases, when I read a response like I'm not photogenic when I should read I don't like myself in pictures. Each time, I think to myself: Why do you think I contacted you? ». 

I feel really lucky as I have some beautiful models almost some of them continue to come after years, so why would I contact some someone who doesn't have the right profile? 

In fact, I seriously think that everyone is more or less photogenic, a bit like classifying people on a Gauss curve and that the extremes would represent photogenic people and those who are not... And you? you are somewhere in between depending on the days, your moods, your desires or the photographer.  The world is not only black or white – there is a so many nuances of gray…

When I talk about a photo session with someone, I have the feeling that some people imagine that we take pictures like Uncle John or Aunt Elizabeth - we take two pictures and put them on the web and say but you are so beautiful on it! Even if your eyes are closed, you have something between your teeth and your cardigan is awful (That speaks with the voice of experience, isn’t it)

FALSE! We take our time, we get to know each other, we talk a little before the session, during and after (I even talk too much sometimes).  Before the shooting, you took the time to choose some nice clothes and check if you still have some salad in your teeth... I propose you some poses (thanks to my fabulous and now famous pink binder)

I regularly have ladies who lack self-confidence during my sessions and then it actually goes well... Most of the time, you have to say to yourself and why not? or others have done it, why not me? 

After all, if I contact you, it's because I want to take pictures with you, so what have you got to lose?

And if it doesn't work? I've only been wrong twice since I've been doing photo shoots, it would still be unlucky if you were the third, so I want to say no risk.
