Fosses-la-Ville (B)
Fosses-la-Ville is a very old village, named Bebrona several centuries ago, a name derived from the presence of drinking water, no doubt the reason for the choice of this location. Founded around a monastery dating from the 6th century, the village's growing prosperity made it one of the 23 Bonnes Villes (good towns) of the Principality of Li?ge (a town that could send representatives to the Third Estate, surround itself with a wall and erect a porch). It underwent numerous sieges, particularly in the 17th century.
