“no future” project
“Mother Nature is a serial killer. No ones better. More creative. Like all serial killers, she can't help but the urge to get caught. What good are all those brilliant crimes if nobody takes the credit? So she leaves crumbs. Now, the hard part is, and why you spend decades in school, is seeing the crumbs for the clues they are. Sometimes the thing you thought to be the most brutal aspect of the virus, actually turns out to be the chink in its armor. She loves disguising her weaknesses as strengths. She's a b*tch.” ― Character from World War Z Andrew Fassbauch This extract is a perfect illustration of this pessimist article. Things are going worst for either ecology and economy. Personally, I like the main concept of the Voluntary Human Extinction Movement which is that people should stop to make baby to decrease progressively the world population. It seems a bit simple, but not so stupid. Any issue that humanity has to face is (almost) caused by humanity itself. The acceleration of global warming is clearly caused by man, the effects of some of our actions are already too important to turn back (by 2050, 50% of French glaciers are expected to melt - a glacier taking time to really react, we can no longer do anything) I don’t want to transform this website in a political forum, so I won’t add anything. Almost that you can get a lot of information more or less alarmist on internet. As for the economy, no need to make some huge description. There are more poor people in our countries yet riches. We are told that everything is fine and that we shouldn't complain when we can eat every day and have a roof over our heads... When it is only the base, the first and (depending on the interpretations) sometimes the second layer, of Maslow's pyramid of needs. So we try to be satisfied with the minimum... I will not debate here during hours about the fact that our vision of our needs is truncated by the prism of society, which wants our primary needs to be relegated to the third and fourth levels of the pyramid through advertising and social networks... I told you that I was very pessimistic earlier - it's quite true, especially since I almost made this superb sentence by Boris Vian my own: Life is a piece of toast of sh*** that you eat a piece of every day But I want to keep hope because as Jean Cocteau said: It is too early to say that it is too late [to be happy in the original quote]. Our politics put in place some false solutions led by big companies we are still trying to shift the blame to the all-it-all by putting in place policies with little impact and no interaction with others... It is more than time to seat around a table, ignore the economy and make global decisions about ecology. And, so I wanted to participate in this ecological momentum in my own way... but I'm not the best - far from it! So I decided to set up a no future project in a Brico radius, the leitmotif of which will be the gas mask or the dust mask. The images can be dark or bright, represent young or old, in a style of dress ranging from femen (with the inscription on the torso and everything) to the next day, in the studio or in a wood... Well, like that, we have the impression that it will be a little bit of everything and anything, but it's not worse than the policy pursued by the greats of this world...
For the record, I use the word acceleration because climate change is part of the Earth's cycle. Regularly over the millennia, our scientists have proven that there has been a reset by Gaia (Mother Earth).
